When did the rug was first made - no one knows exactly. Date of this hiding somewhere in the mists of time. However, according to the scholars and historians, rug art began more than two and a half thousand years ago.
The most ancient of which came to us of the bright rugs was allegedly more than two thousand years ago! Heavy wool nap pictures depicting deer, classification and horses were found in the royal mounds archaeological excavations in 1949. That discovery demonstrates the unique fact : after centuries of classical hand woven technique, rugs have remained unchanged. Today, this masterpiece of the century decorates the Hermitage collection.
Yes, it is "a masterpiece of the century", because making rugs is a very old art, which has its roots in the ancient East. How did it all start?The scientists believed that the original carpet served as a practical : the eastern nomads invented a kind weave fabrics, to be able to create the house. Elyakim carpets serve to protect homes from the wind and sand, they quickly defend the room. Better things than a rug was not even possible back then, as it had the best features: light, warm, dense collapsing, it is very convenient for transport.
